Hello Everyone,

We will now be exploring the whole territory of Laxman Jhula and will be giving out to you the best places to stay, relax, chill and enjoy out here.
These places will include the best of Cafe's, Hotels, Restaurants, Yoga Institutions, Spa, Massage centres and local shops and businesses which will be to your interest.
We at Rishikesh Inside will try our best to entertain you and keep you updated about all our sprees in Rishikesh.
Do keep following us.

So, the first adventure that we have set on is to find a Good cafe where you can sit, relax, enjoy the relishing food offered, and of course, the View!

The first cafe that excels in all these things is The ChillOut Cafe located near Laxman Jhula.
The Chillout Cafe is set around 250 metres from the Jhula, being one of the oldest cafe's located here.
If you are in Rishikesh for the first time, it will be a little hard to find because of its location as it is set just beside the Bank of the Ganges (Ghat).
If you are unable to find this Cafe, you can enquire from any local authority or person and they will certainly help you out and give to you the exact location.

The ChillOut Cafe is owned by Mr. Deepu, a very helpful and friendly lad, who manages the cafe as well.
He has a team of people who furnish, serve and manage the kitchen and cafe with him.
It is a single storey wooden hut, which is designed in such a way so as to maximise the fresh air and view offered by Rishikesh.

It is placed adjacent to the Ganges, which makes the view from the cafe Breathtaking.
The Sitting Arrangement offered by the cafe is both of western and  indian style, making it comfortable and exotic altogether.

The Cafe is Multi-Cuisinal and offers a wide range of Delicacies which will certainly satisfy the Foodie within you.
The cafe offers English, Italian, Mexican, Israeli, Indian, Chinese and American Cuisines.
The Cafe is always open for your valuable feedback and suggestions.

It also has a Massage Centre which is currently in construction and will be ready for your service within a month's time.
The Cafe has some Good Music Sensibility offering mostly all Genres to Ear on.

We interviewed two tourists who were relaxing in the Cafe, the details being as follows:-
We met with Matthias and Johann, two young and vibrant Lads hailing from Germany.
It was their second day here in Rishikesh, though they had visited Rishikesh three times before (Certainly liking Rishikesh a lot, that's why visiting for the fourth time)
On being asked about their stay and the Cafe, they said they were enjoying a lot and had some suggestions and feedback in them.

They were concerned about the Ganges because people threw a lot of rubbish in the river and it was being polluted.

About the Cafe - The food was up to their mark/expectation and they liked the food very much.
They liked the view from the cafe as well.
Their order was delivered to them on time, on some occasions the order took a while to reach their table.

On asking about their visit to the Cafe and about the people there -
The people at Laxman Jhula and The Cafe were very friendly to them.

Rishikesh Inside's Report Card :-

  • FOOD - 7.5 out of 10
  • AMBIENCE -8 out of 10

Laxman Jhula- Introduction

Hello Everyone,
Laxman Jhula

Laxman Jhula and the Laxman Temple Behind

Thank you all for your overwhelming response to our initiative and as we promised we will try our level best to make sure that you leave Rishikesh with a pleasant memory.
So to begin with this extraordinary journey, we will first take you to the Heart of Rishikesh, Laxman Jhula.

This Iron Suspension Bridge was built in 1939 over river Ganga and has since been a major attraction for tourists from all over the globe.
Legend says, Lord Laxman ( Lord Rama's brother), crossed this bridge which was made from Jute. Since then, this place has been a Holy Land for the Hindus.

Located 3 Kms from Rishikesh Main Town, this Marvel is surely not one to miss, when in Rishikesh.

With the River Ganga flowing underneath and the view of the Himalayan Ranges will surely leave you in awe.

Laxman Jhula is surrounded by many Temples and Ashrams, the most famous being the Laxman Jhula Temple and the Terah Manzil (13 Floors) Mandir.

We at Rishikesh Inside would recommend you to visit Laxman Jhula after sunset. The Chants from the Temples, the bubbling sound of the river Ganga, will calm your mind and soul.

The market near Laxman Jhula is highly recommended for people interested in handicrafts, ancient woodwork, gems and precious stones, clothes and other items. Books on Indian Mythology are easily available at this place. Located here in the market, are many cafe's which offer an endless range of cuisines. One can hear the Chants from a nearby temple when you are walking down this market located right next to the Bank of Ganga.
This place offers a wide range of cuisines from all over the world. The local Uttarakhand cuisines like Aloo Dal Pakoda, Aloo Ke Gutke, Baadi and other delicious items are highly recommended by the locals.

You might see a group of monkeys hanging on this Suspension Bridge, but they are quiet people friendly. Although, we would still recommend you to take care of your belongings, they might get attracted to your Cameras, cellphones and any food items.

A few issues were pointed out by our readers that parking is a big issue near Laxman Jhula and on a fine day, you might find it difficult to reach here if you are travelling in your own vehicle.
Though a Paid Parking is available, but it is better to travel by Public transport.

We would recommend our readers to use public transport as it is the most convenient way to reach Laxman Jhula. Shared Autos and other means of transport are easily available.

We at Rishikesh Inside, highly recommend you to visit this beauty when you are here in Rishikesh. Even though reaching here might be a little annoying, but the experience will definitely wipe out all that as soon as you step on this Marvel.

To be continued.
